For more than 70 years, the shape of handlebars used on road bicycles has not changed significantly. Providing increased adjustability and ergonomics, the Rael brake and handlebar system seeks to shake things up and provide the cyclist with more comfort and control. Rather than having to select a handlebar with a particular drop and reach, now a standard bullhorn-style bar can be paired with brake levers that incorporate the area commonly referred to as the drops. The reach to the levers can be adjusted a full inch and the pistol-shaped drops can be angled inward or outward depending on preference. The design can easily accommodate hydraulic brake reservoirs and electronic internals for shifting.
